«Подталкивать своё счастье». To push one's luck значит действовать опрометчиво, необдуманно, надеясь на постоянный успех. Это выражение часто употребляется как предостережение:

You asked me to lend you £1,000 and I agreed. You asked me if you could borrow my car for two weeks and I agreed. Now you are asking me to accommodate your parents for a month. Don't push your luck! — Ты попросил одолжить тебе 1000 фунтов, и я согласился. Ты попросил попользоваться моей машиной в течение двух недель, и я согласился. Сейчас ты просишь меня приютить твоих родителей на месяц! Имей совесть!
